Jenna Baziuk is a Registered Clinical Social Worker providing psychological counselling services at Maloney Elkassem Wellness.   

She provides Individual Counselling for teenagers (12-18) and adults who are currently experiencing challenges in their lives that are impacting their mental, physical, emotional, and social well-being. 

Jenna strongly believes that every individual possesses the inner strength, resilience, and knowledge to overcome life’s challenges that can become overwhelming at times. As a counsellor, she strives to create a safe, compassionate, nonjudgmental, and collaborative therapeutic environment in order for clients to gain new insights that will allow them to make the changes that they are seeking for themselves. In conjunction with creating a strong therapeutic relationship, she grounds her work in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT); however, Jenna utilizes an integrative approach to counselling which allows flexibility and respect for each client’s uniqueness.

Her background utilizing a wide variety of therapies, (including EMDR) allows her to successfully help a wide variety of issues, including: 

  • Addictions (substance & behavioural), 

  • PTSD/Trauma, 

  • Depression/Anxiety, 

  • Self-esteem,

  • Loss & Grief, 

  • Stress Management, 

  • Relationship Difficulties

EDUCATION 

Jenna is a Registered Clinical Social Worker with a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Calgary. Before obtaining her Master’s Degree she completed and obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Psychology Major) and a Bachelor of Social Work Degree. Her practicum training was completed in residential treatment and hospital settings. She completed a year-long internship at a private practice clinic in St. Albert, Alberta. Jenna is a member in good standing with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW). 

EXPERIENCE 

For the past 9 years, Jenna has worked in community residential treatment programs, hospitals, community agencies, and in private practice at Whyte Avenue Psychological and Wellness.  She has supported and worked with individuals of all ages, various cultural, socioeconomic, and religious backgrounds with varied mental health conditions, gender identities, and sexual orientations. 

The majority of Jenna’s career thus far has been dedicated to working and supporting individuals impacted by a variety of addictions (substance and process). She has extensive experience in both individual and group counselling. She has worked on multidisciplinary teams consisting of psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, general physicians, nurses, and social workers providing treatment and support for various psychiatric conditions.
